January 13, 2009

In celebration of 15 years of Darkstalkers, UDON Entertainment is putting together a full color art book tribute to the monsterific fighting series. In addition to their own artists and guest contributions, UDON is inviting video game fan artists to submit their original and clean Darkstalkers illustrations for possible inclusion. If you think you have the style and quality to impress the judges, hit up the official web page for complete details and the rules for having your work considered.

Metal Gear Solid: Group Therapy
January 4, 2009

If you have any love for the Metal Gear series, you just might find this video hilarious. I sure did. The real voice talents behind Snake, Raiden, Otacon, Campbell, and Naomi sit down for some group therapy to deal with the side effects of their jobs, that being the belief that they are in fact the characters they voice. I should toss in a warning for potential Metal Gear Solid 4 spoilers as well, depending how hardcore of a fan you are.

A look at 2008
January 1, 2009

Welcome to the new year! 2008 is history now, and that means we can break it down into numbers. Because as many RPG players will agree, numbers are fun. Especially rows of 9's.

CU saw more than 2.6 million visitors and over 31 million pageviews for the year. What content did those visitors consume the most? That, as well as the depressingly predictable most viewed artwork list, below—

It came from Kijuju
December 8, 2008

I got an email from Capcom today directing me to a perplexing web page. Apparently Capcom decided that instead of simply releasing content for Resident Evil 5, it would be more fun to cajole its fanbase into slowly unlocking it. So stare at the pool of inane words and phrases plastered across the screen and see if it all suddenly makes sense. There's several subtle messages threaded throughout, and entering "refinery" after clicking the "1" unlocks this page. Mmmm...itchy, tasty.

Back to work, work, work
November 30, 2008

My vacation ended yesterday and I'm getting things back in order here. Beaches were enjoyed, jellyfish were poked, trails were walked, and fish were fried. Now it's time to resume work. Let the updates commence!
