Japanese RPG to feature human breeding
he PS3 could use some popular and original RPG's. Record of Agarest War might be an answer to half of that need. While it's too early to know if the game can push sales numbers, it's promising gameplay originality in the form of human breeding. In addition to saving the world, players must make use of a feature known as the "Soul Breed" system that requires you to charm one of the game's heroines into mothering your successor.

If successful, a special movie cinematic that may or may not feature large amounts of skin will follow, after which your progeny will be revealed (they breed as fast as rats apparently). The new protagonist's physical appearance as well as stats will be effected by who you choose to be your lover.

So what else does Record of Agarest War offer besides fantasy sex? The game is said to take place across five generations. The world spans five continents, which will be explored one by one with each successive generation. Battles will consist of a squared grid with a turn-based system, in normal simulation RPG fashion.

Idea Factory is handling the game system, while Red Entertainment covers the script and Compile Heart takes care of publishing. Look for a September 27 release in Japan if simulation breeders RPG's are your thing, because it's unlikely this one will make it to North America.
