Dual Shock 3 reportedly planned for TGS
September 18, 2007
t seems Sony has completely changed its mind about rumble technology being last-gen. At least according to a claim from the latest "1UP Yours" podcast hosted by Ziff Davis, in which podcaster Shane says that the new PS3 controller will be on display at the Tokyo Game Show. While Sony hasn't confirmed the statement, we won't have to wait long to learn if it's true, as TGS begins in just a couple days.
Aside from the inclusion of rumble, it's unknown if any other significant changes will be made. Visually, it will likely be the same old controller we're accustomed to, but I can always hope for the "boomerang" prototype to return, right? I've not yet given up on the dream of boomeranging my controller into the next room to fetch snacks for me while in the middle of a heated game.
The Tokyo Game Show will run from September 20 through 23, so expect any not-last-gen rumbling controller announcements to be revealed soon.
