Google spreads the Nintendo love in its offices

t's been fairly publicized that Google is one of the best places you can work in America, and it's no wonder when you see the things they do to promote an enjoyable working environment. Take for example the company's recent games-themed cube decorating contest. The Developer Ops team decided to go 8-bit with a classic Super Mario Brothers theme!
Stephanie Liu of the Google Data team writes:

"There would be two main areas - the classic Level 1 terrain and an underwater level. We took on this task with typical Google vigor -- 15 yards of blue cloth, 5 rolls of saran wrap, 10 pieces of posterboard, foam, lots of color printer toner, and a few afterwork hours/weekends"

The result? Nostalgic awesomeness. Judge for yourself (click thumbs for larger images).
Not bad for a project made from primarily office supplies. Unfortunately the Developer Ops' Mario theme lost to the Analytics' Jumanji theme, which had a tiger roar triggered by a motion sensor box when you walked by. Maybe the Developer Ops should have reciprocated the idea with a "It's-a me, Mario!" version.
