Ratchet & Clank may glitch on setup, quick fix

he latest entry in one of my favorite platformer series is now on store shelves and in gamers' hands, but some new owners of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction may encounter an error when attempting to start the game. A setup procedure that copies files to the PS3 HDD has a bug that can read the hard drive as full when there is in fact ample space.
As Insomniac community manager James Stevenson describes the issue—
| |
"We recently discovered a bug on the US version of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction that some of you may encounter the first time you boot the game," [...] "With specific amounts of free space on your drive, you may see a screen that tells you have insufficient space to create game data even though there is plenty of free space on your drive."
|
Thankfully, the solution is quite simple. Stevenson continues...
| |
"When this occurs, either delete or add about 500MB of data to your hard drive and the problem will go away,"
|
So basically, hit up the online PlayStation Store and download a free game demo. Or alternatively, remove an old one from your HDD. Whatever you choose, a data adjustment of 500MB to your hard drive shouldn't take more than several minutes, and is a permanent fix for all future start-ups of the game.
