n early page scan from the Super Mario Galaxy strategy guide has revealed some juicy replayability details for Nintendo's soon to be released galactic adventure. Those daring enough to complete the game 100% and fulfill a couple extra requirements will be rewarded with a surprise playable character that offers a new challenge to replaying the game.
The guide explains that after completing all the purple coin missions and perfecting your collection of 120 stars, a talk with Rosalina at the Comet Observatory will give you the option to fight Bowser again. Doing so will bring your adventuring to a close once again and the credits will roll, but this time, when the credits end you will be able to play as Luigi.
Playing as Luigi presents a new level of difficulty. While the guy can jump higher and farther than Mario, and best him in running speed too, he lacks stopping power. This can make your second play more challenging, and hopefully enough to keep your interest for a full replay.
