New double-life PSP battery in December

 orth American PSP owners will soon be able to get more hours from their favorite games, at a price. A new PSP Extended Life Battery Kit is on the way that can double the battery life for the PSP Slim. The kit will include custom covers for "Piano Black" and "Ice Silver" to accommodate the battery, as it's said to be slightly thicker than the current one.
The new 2200 mAh battery will still be compatible with the original PSP (the fat one), and will be available in mid-December, just in time to help pass those boring eventful family holiday gatherings.
Expect to pay $44.99 USD at retailers for the battery kit. A bit on the pricey side. How much do you value extended game time?
A spokesperson from Sony has commented to GameSpot that there are no plans for release outside of North America for the time being.
