Dragon Quest Swords receives NA release date

 ebruary 2008 for most Wii owners probably means Super Smash Bros Brawl, but for those looking for a rather different experience of a role-playing genre, Square Enix has something to offer. Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors has had its previously vague 'early 2008' release updated to a clear February 26th date.
Dragon Quest Swords is an adventure in the genre Square Enix is most familiar with, RPG. However, it's not what most would expect from your standard traditional RPG system. The game is experienced through a first-person view, like gamers have come to know from Dragon Quest main series' random battles. But far more uniquely, it incorporates a lot of action elements by using the Wii Remote to perform sword slashes, as well as shield blocks. Hitting enemies repeatedly builds up a gauge, allowing you to execute a special attack.
The North American release date is set well past a half-year later than the original Japanese release, and Square Enix plans to add a little consolation for that fact. Four hidden bosses will be included as a bonus, in addition to a new "Payback Mode." Unfortunately, the mode name is all that has been made known at this time, but the important thing is that we are getting something that Japan didn't!
